Type roles

  • Defensive types: Toxic, Nature and Fire
  • Offensive types: Electric, Melee, Mental and Digital
  • Balanced types: Wind, Water, Neutral, Earth and Crystal

Neutral type

Neutral types are most prevalent in the eastern savannas of Kisiwa. Neutral types are below average in a defensive role, as they take normal damage from every other type (except for Mental). On the offensive side, Neutral type is above average as they deal full damage to all other types except for Mental.

Nature type

The lush Omninesian jungles host the majority of Nature Temtem. Nature types are among the best defensive types in the game, as they resist 4 different types and are weak to only two types. Nature Temtem usually play a tanky, defensive role on your team.

Fire type

Fire Temtem live in preferred habitat is the scorching and lava-filled depths of the Anak volcano. Fire types are relatively strong when it comes to defense, but on the offensive side they fall a bit short.

Water type

Water Temtem are mainly found in and around Sillaro, the biggest body of water in the Archipelago. Water types are well balanced both offensively and defensively, but they require a special situation to be used properly.

Electric type

Electric Temtem were once revered as spirits of lightning. They can be found in the misty hilltops of Cipanku. Electric Temtem are more on the offensive side, but they are highly specialized, as they have are effective against 4 types and ineffective against 4 types.

Earth type

Earth Temtem are fairly unknown outside their habitat in the western Kisiwan deserts. Earth Temtem have three weaknesses, which means a quarter of all Temtem types is effective against them. Their type advantage over Fire and Electric makes them situational, but they haven't proven to be great tanks thus far.

Wind type

Wind Type Temtem are often seen flying around the Thalassian Cliffs of Deniz. Wind Temtem are the only type effective against Toxic, but they are average performers overall.

Mental type

Mental Temtem can be found in Properton, a town or city in Arbury. Mental types defensive capabilities are lacking, but their offensive potential makes up for it. Mental Temtem are only ineffective against Crystal Temtem and they're the only type Effective against Normal Temtem.

Digital type

Digital type are found in Nanto, a town or city in Cipanku. Digital Temtem are effective against dealing with strong offensive types, and they are ineffective against literally nothing. Digital's resistance to Poison makes it a worthy contender, despite sometimes being outclassed by Water types.

Melee type

Melee Temtem can be found in Lochburg, a town or city in Arbury. Melee Temtems are best suited for offensive game play, but they don't lack on defense either. The type has a low list of weaknesses, and can deal with most threats that don't directly counter it.

Crystal type

Crystal Temtem can be found in the mines of Quetzal. Crystal Temtem have a natural resistance to Mental and Electric, which are two of the most aggressive Types in Temtem. Crystal Temtem are usually a safe bet in your team.

Toxic type

Toxic Temtem live in the desolate barrens of Tucma, where they feed on the chemcials that would kill less sturdy Temtem. Toxic is clearly the best defensive type in the game. Toxic is effective against Water and Nature, both of which are common in the early game. Offensively, Toxic is relatively ineffective, but they can take a hit.
